Carolyn Kalos, Esq.

Mediation Chair

Carolyn Kalos has been a family lawyer in New York City for more than 25 years, allowing her to see the toll that divorce, custody disputes, and conflict can take on families. She has experience in all areas of family law, and an ability to understand and account for the needs of different parties in complex family dynamics.

Prior to joining The Law Offices of Diamond, Fee, Kalos & Ballard, PLLC, Carolyn founded Family Friendly Mediation.  Carolyn was an adoption attorney, a litigator, trial skills instructor, a clinical instructor and adjunct professor, all in the area of family law. Carolyn worked at the Administration for Children’s Services as a trial lawyer and at the Legal Aid Society, Juvenile Rights Practice as a Staff Attorney and Assistant Attorney in Charge. She also worked as Associate Director and Training Coordinator at the Center for Mediation & Training.

Carolyn volunteers as a mediator at the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG). She is a consultant mediator and parenting coordinator with FamilyKind, Inc.  Carolyn is on the roster of Mediators approved for appointment by the Westchester County Matrimonial & Family Courts. Professional memberships include the National Association of Divorce Professionals (NADP), the Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts (AFCC), the New York State Bar Association, Family Law Sections, and the New York Women’s Bar Association.

Carolyn graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan and earned her Juris Doctor from Emory Law School.
